EEN – Creating Growth for businesses and start-ups

EEN – Creating Growth for businesses and start-ups

Fifteen companies, supported by the Enterprise Europe Network, have just participated at the Dubai World Expo b2fair networking event, which took place between the 23rd and 25th of January 2022. This international business meeting fair was organised by the Enterprise Europe Network, and provided a unique opportunity for Maltese entrepreneurs to showcase their brilliance and achievements to an international audience and enrich their global reach.

Organised over the course of three days and held at the prestigious Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel, located in the heart of Dubai, this EEN brokerage event was packed with networking opportunities, thematic seminars, visits to companies and international business meetings. Maltese delegates, joined by a team of local experts, had the opportunity to network with a wide range of professionals from a variety of sectors during one-to-one business meetings, resulting in potential partnerships and new business leads.

The aim and purpose of the event was:

• To help SMEs and innovative start-ups explore the Middle Eastern market and foster international partnership bonds.

• To leverage the international dimension of the World Expo by federating concrete market opportunities and gathering the business community from all over the world through the organisation of tailored and high-quality business meetings.

The brokerage event was open to SMEs, innovative start-ups, multinational companies, research institutes, tech parks and important economic players. This matchmaking event was for businesses looking to scale and grow their products or services through new collaborations and partnerships, finding technical expertise or expanding into new areas of business. It enabled Maltese participants to select, meet and showcase their business or expertise to other participants during private one-to-one 20-minute meetings with international entrepreneurs.

Local entrepreneurs operating in the sustainability and digitalisation sectors, including ICT, mobility, renewable energy, agro-food, health tech as well as logistics participated in this networking event. It presented companies with innovative prospects to tap new markets and find potential business partners for cooperation purposes and the creation of sustainable networks at an international scale.

Working in collaboration with over 600 business organisations and 3,000 experts in more than 60 countries worldwide, the Enterprise Europe Network is the world’s largest support network for SMEs and start-ups with international ambitions. EEN embraces the importance of collaborative networks for start-up ventures and is well-known for its expertise, contacts and events to connect entrepreneurs with the right international partners to grow their business.

The Network organises different types of business-oriented events, which are an excellent opportunity for start-ups to establish network and contacts worldwide. Participating in an Enterprise Europe Network event could be one’s first step towards new international business opportunities. Brokerage events bring together businesses and other organisations looking for partners to take their projects forward. They often take place alongside international trade fairs and conferences. Participants share their partnership offers or requests and schedule meetings in advance.
